Do What Is Right with Officer Wellness
RITE is honoring Martin Luther King’s quote, “The time is right to always do what is right” with great respect at a time when we all need to Do What is Right. The Department of Justice and the IACP agree, that dedicating in-service training to Officer Wellness is a pillar of strength, (the 6th pillar in 21st century policing) that has been long been overlooked.
“This peaceful cause is the root of helping our police officers Do What Is the Right decision every day.”
Police officers dedicate their lives to serve, protect, uphold the law, and do what’s right. But one wrong split-second decision, could end their career in a moments notice, causing community turmoil, social media anger, law suits costing the department millions, and departmental ridicule. This snowball effect we call ‘Block-Out Syndrome,’ can be avoided by putting the RITE Training of Officer Wellness with Emotional Intelligence on the front line.
Too much time has been spent teaching law enforcement agencies the typical cultural diversity model, yet nothing has been done to actually help the police officer deal with Emotional Intelligence. How can we expect the police officer to act with their Social Intelligence, (recognizing different community cultures), when we don’t address their own emotional well being first?
Let’s help our officers with more effective wellness training that helps the officer Do the RITE thing. The 6th pillar of 21st Century Policing puts Officer Wellness as a key to departmental success. When you improve the person, you improve the profession, and build community trust.
The RITE Academy, (Racial Intelligence Training & Engagement™) is the only cultural diversity officer wellness training that helps the Officer, the Profession, and builds Community trust. Our Racial Intelligence training for Public Service Professionals puts Officer Wellness at the front line… because when you improve the person first, the profession follows.
