When emphasis is placed on educating the whole child, we help our youth be successful in all parts of life – from academics to interpersonal relationships to making good life choices.
How does the Cognitive Learning Tool work?
The way we learn and what we learn, helps mold who we are. Students must learn various ways to use their emotional brain, and how to find the best learning strategies for their learning style.
RITE cognitive learning uses emotion and specific cognitive learning tools like the RITE Ladder, to get the most out of every student’s development. The RITE SEL model goes beyond the classroom, and helps children on the playground, the athletic field, at home, and into daily life skills.
Acquiring social and emotional skills will prove to be invaluable as our children grow.
RITE Step for Students provides a ‘cognitive imprint tool’ that students and teachers can utilize in their SEL (Social and Emotional Intelligence Learning) platform, that allows open discussion involving Racial Intelligence, Implicit Bias, and Bias-Free Engagement.
According to the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL), social emotional learning is the process through which children, youth and adults acquire and effectively apply the knowledge, attitudes and skills necessary to:
- Understand and manage emotions
- Set and achieve positive goals
- Feel and show empathy for others
- Establish and maintain positive relationships
- Make responsible decisions
