DESCRIPTION:RITE Train-the-Trainer for Public Schools\nPrivate Training:\nRITE Officer Training at Atlanta Public Schools Police Department will be conducted in a 2-day class. This training is open to APSPD Trainers only. Originally designed for police and corrections departments\, RITE Academy has delivered training to multiple government agencies\, universities\, corporate clients and NGOs. \n  \nAPSPD has taken proactive measures to give their police officers RITE training and tools that will help improve communication and reduce bias-based tension in schools. Teaching critical components of both Emotional Intelligence (EI) and Social Intelligence (SI)\, improves resiliency awareness\, as well as personal and professional relationships. \n  \nPro-active steps towards Atlanta Public Schools Mission\n“In addition to preparing every student to graduate ready for college and career\, Atlanta Public Schools provides a safe and secure environment for its students\, employees and campuses. A progressive and forward-thinking organization\, the Atlanta Public Schools Police Department appreciates the support of the Atlanta Board of Education\, superintendent\, staff\, and community for recognizing the importance of school safety and the linkage to student success. \nRestructuring the department into a “new” Office of Safety and Security creates a more effective and efficient unit within the Operations division to better support schools within the district.
