SUMMARY:RITE TRAINERS Class @Mississippi Dept. of Public Safety MLEOTA (MS)
DESCRIPTION:Registration is OPEN for all LAW Enforcement\, Fire\, EMS\, 911\, Corrections\, and City Employees. Details\, Registration\, and contact info below. Space is limited to the first 40 that register. \n  \n\nHow we react to a volatile situation is key. This training dramatically improves our Emotional Response when engaging with others\, especially in pressure situations. \n\n  \nWe make 35\,000 decisions each day! \nDeciding what we eat\, what we wear\, what we say\, and how we’ll say it\, our brains are on the go from the moment we wake up. The fact is\, about 90% of the decisions Officer’s make\, are based on emotions. \n  \nOfficers and Emotional Intelligence\nThe benefit of emotional intelligence training\, is in learning how officers can utilize it in the community. When using tactics of influence\, emotional intelligence provides a groundwork for successful engagement. Emotional Intelligence is the foundation of RITE’s Emotional Response Training (ERT). \n  \nMany times coworkers and zone partners escalate situations because they themselves are in a negative space. Having emotional self-control means you value yourself\, and are willing to work on yourself. But not all officers know how to ASK for help. \n  \n \nEmotional Response Training (ERT) helps us recognize signs and symptoms of stress\, PTSD\, and suicidal thoughts. ERT offers ways and means to build up positive mental health for every officer\, and a way to work on themselves in their own space and time. \n  \n\nCourse Summary\nDecisions we make come from either our logical or emotional mind. Emotional intelligence (EI) is knowing how our emotional mind works\, and learning to control our emotions\, especially in pressure situations. \n  \nThis course is necessary for anyone in public service\, as it goes beyond work-life\, and benefits home-life as well. Maintaining control over our emotions\, especially in today’s policing\, is critical. This course has been taught since 2015\, and has helped many. Law enforcement officers often encounter volatile situations\, and their response can either help a situation or escalate it. \n  \nRITE has simplified the (6) modules taught in this class\, to utilize the information immediately. Students learn practical skills using unique Tools for managing emotional responses\, and ways to harness the power of the emotional part of the brain. Having a high EI is critical to working with in public service. \n  \nEmotional health issues are a known risk to an officer’s health and well-being. This training is a MUST for every first responder.\n  \n(4) Issues of Poor Mental Health\n\nDepression\, anxiety\, and PTSD\nLack of Productivity\nEven when available\, most won’t seek help\nOfficer suicide\n\nOfficers have higher rates of depression\, burnout\, PTSD\, and anxiety than the general population. Coworkers and zone partners often escalate situations because they themselves are in a negative space. SUMMARY:RITE Presents at the 2024 Mississippi Police Chiefs Conference (MS)
DESCRIPTION:RITE Presents: 2024 Summer Conference: June 19\, 2024 \, Golden Nugget\, Biloxi\, MS\n  \nIssues of Mental Health\nMany times officers will escalate a situation because they themselves are in a negative space. They can’t get out of their own way\, so they take their problems out on others. Having emotional self-control means you value yourself\, and are willing to work on yourself. \n  \nImagine if all officers that needed help\, actually got it? Most agencies have mental health advocates in place these days\, but some officer’s still feel they will be seen as weak. If we don’t know they are hurting\, we can’t help them. \n  \n\nDepression\, Anxiety\, and PTSD \nAccording to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)\, officers report higher rates of depression\, burnout\, PTSD\, and anxiety than the general population. \n  \nRITE includes Emotional Response Training (ERT) to help officers learn to recognize signs and symptoms of stress\, PTSD\, and suicidal thoughts. ERT offers ways and means to build up positive mental health for every officer\, and a way to work on themselves in their own space and time. \n  \nChief Newton LOVES the Ladder!\nThe RITE Tools\, like the Emotional Energy Ladder (seen in the photo)\, makes us aware of our emotions\, how we affect others\, and that only we have the power to make those changes. Great leadership starts with with improved Officer Wellness programs like RITE. \nThis lays the groundwork towards positive employee engagement\, better mental health\, and improved relationships at work and at home. Give the media something good to talk about! \n  \n  \nSummary\n\nEmotional Response Training (ERT)\, emotions in pressure situations\nUse the Ladder to understand Implicit Bias\, Hot-Buttons\, and PTS-D\nRITE model orientation in police academy recruit training\nLearn to avoid ‘Block-Out Syndrome’ on 95% of calls\nEmergency Response (Step In\, Tap Out\, Take Over)\nDe-escalation Communication with Behavioral Self Control\nERT Tools for your mental health advocates\, CIT\, etc.\nParticipants receive a LADDER and New Day exclusive Tool\nLearn how to help officers that struggle with job stress\n\n  \nThis main room session is an introduction to RITE Programs. Each participant will walk away from this session with new insight on improving their own lives\, professionally and personally. \n  \nSpeakers\nLinda Webb (left) \nIn 2018\, an officer taking the RITE class took Ms. Webb aside during a break. He was considering suicide and as he put it\, “my only way out of this pain.” Having the personal experience with the suicide of her police partner\, and her own demons as a young Officer\, Ms. Webb was able to help this commander release the pain. \n  \nRandy Friedman (right) \nMs. Friedman’s extensive experience in athletics and motivational training\, combined with emotional and social intelligence\, is the foundation that pieces the RITE Program together. This powerful groundwork for law enforcement and all public service professionals is what brought Ms. Friedman and Ms. Webb together again\, to create the RITE Academy. \nLearn more about Webb and Friedman  \n  \nRITE Articles to Learn from and Share:\n\nEmotional Control Leads to Better Outcomes – Article Link\nDuty to Intervene during Block-out – Article Link\nPolicing is affected by Officer Implicit Issues – Article Link\n6 Signs a Bully is causing Harassment Issues Article Link\nProfessional Workplace on Police Misconduct – Article Link\n\n  \n  \nRITE TRAINERS Class @Mississippi Dept. of Public Safety MLEOTA (MS)\nRegistration Link – Sign your Trainers up early\, class size is limited! \n \n  \n  \nGet more information on the conference here: \nEvents \n \n  \n  \nCONTACT \n \n

SUMMARY:RITE Professional Workplace Leadership Training @UT Austin\, TX
DESCRIPTION:(2) Half-day Classes on RITE Professional Workplace for Leaders are being hosted by University of Texas – Austin\, for Police Leaders.\n  \nRITE helps all Agency Support Groups \n\nSince 2015\, we have been the leading training provider bringing necessary tools and exercises to specialized support teams like: Peer Support\, CIT\, Mental Health\, and Chaplains\, Training Academies\, Speciality Teams (SWAT\, Hostage Negotiations\, and FTO)\, and Leadership. \nRITE provides Agency support groups with Training and Tools\, offering additional help and resources to all employees in the agency. Our classes include a combination of emotional and social intelligence skill-building with unique accountability Tools. Years of research along with hands-on training\, give your employees a sole-source experience that is unmatched. \n  \n \n  \n  \n“RITE Training benefits ALL (Fire\, Police\, Corrections) in Public Service”\n \n\nWhy RITE Training works in Public Service\nRITE’s critical components of both Emotional Intelligence (EI) and Social Intelligence (SI)\, helps anyone in public service\, improve communication on many levels. These classes help to improve resiliency awareness\, as well as personal and professional relationships. \n\nEmotional Intelligence is being aware of our emotions\, and to acknowledge that emotions can drive behavior that impacts others (positively and negatively). Social Intelligence is how we effectively navigate and negotiate all social relationships and situations. \n\nRITE Tools\, like the Emotions Energy Ladder (in this photo)\, makes us aware of our emotions\, how we affect others\, and how we have the power to make those changes. \n  \nAnger\, Hate\, and Blame\, all live at the bottom of the RITE Ladder. Although we all can feel those emotions during our day\, learning how to control them\, is key to great leadership. Bias-free engagement\, lives at the top of the Ladder with Love\, Gratitude\, Joy\, and Confidence. \n  \nA safe workplace\, free of all types of harassment starts with doing the RITE thing\, and helping others do the same. Improved communication starts here. \n\n\n\nRacial Intelligence defined: “The practice of using Emotional Intelligence (EI)\, Social Intelligence (SI) and the RITE Tools (RI)\, to treat ourselves and others fairly.” \n\n\n  \nRITE Professional Workplace Training\nTeaching components that reinforce your company’s values of having a professional bias-free workplace culture for all employees is our goal. Each class includes Emotional Intelligence Tools your employees learn from and use in class with each other\, and well after the class ends. \n  \nWorkplace Culture Breakdowns include: \n\nUnprofessional Behavior\nElements of Entitlement\nMental Looping and Negative Banter\nImplicit Bias and Hot Buttons\nRumors and Gossip\nUnprofessional Social Media Posting\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n\nRITE helps reinforce the company culture of treating everyone fairly\, in a professional manner.
