SUMMARY:Emotional and Social Intelligence LEADERSHIP for OPOTA: JUL 1-2\, 2019 (Columbus\, OH)
DESCRIPTION:Professional Workplace Culture\nThis is a Private Training for OPOTA\nRITE Emotional & Social Intelligence Leadership Training for OPOTA will be conducted over two days. This private training is by invitation only by OPOTA Executive Director\, Jeffrey Scott. Originally designed for police and corrections departments\, RITE Academy has delivered training to multiple government agencies\, universities\, corporate clients and NGOs. \n  \nOhio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA)\nThe Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy houses both Commission and Academy staff. Commission staff oversees training requirements and curriculum for peace officers\, private security\, local corrections\, jail personnel\, K-9 units\, and humane agents\, in addition to firearms programs for public defender investigators\, bailiffs\, probation officers\, and parole officers. They also oversee certification standards of peace officers. Academy staff provides instruction in basic\, advanced\, and technical subjects for the Ohio law enforcement community using the latest research and recommended professional practices. \n  \nRITE has proven Results\nWith proven RESULTS that RITE Training decreases use of force (amongst many other things)\, our classes combine Emotional Intelligence (EI) and Social Intelligence (SI)\, which has been successfully used in high-pressure jobs for years. \n  \nTeaching critical components of both Emotional Intelligence (EI) and Social Intelligence (SI)\, improves resiliency awareness\, as well as personal and professional relationships. \n\n\nEmotional Intelligence is being aware of our emotions\, and to acknowledge that emotions can drive behavior that impacts others (positively and negatively). Social Intelligence is how we effectively navigate and negotiate all social relationships and situations. \n\nRITE Tools\, like the Emotional Energy Ladder (in this photo)\, makes us aware of our emotions\, how we affect others\, and that only we have the power to make those changes. Racism lives at the bottom of the Ladder with Hate. Bias-free lives at the top of the Ladder with Love\, Gratitude and Joy. \nA safe workplace\, free of all types of harassment starts with doing the RITE thing\, and helping others do the same. \n\n\n\nRacial Intelligence is: “The practice of using Emotional Intelligence (EI)\, Social Intelligence (SI) and the RITE Tools to treat ourselves and others fairly.” \n\n\n  \nThe RITE Model\nRITE improves the officer’s communication skills (first)\, so they can engage more effectively with others.  Old diversity training (teaching officers what they’re doing wrong) is ineffective in improving police-work. Improved engagement and morale is noticed in the department\, and ultimately builds Community trust. \n  \nLeaders learn the RITE 3-prong approach:\n\nOfficer Communication Skills: Emotional Intelligence Tools for Career Resiliency and De-escalation; to use personally and professionally\nImprove the Department: Social Intelligence helps with Bias-free policing\, Recruiting\, Improved morale\, and Accountability\nBuild the Community Relations: Bias-free policing will Enhance public trust\n\n  \n  \nGoals and Objectives:\n\nProfessional Workplace Culture objectives with Emotional Intelligence\nHow to mitigate Harassment and unacceptable behavior in the workplace\nLearning to use EI and SI tools for improved Leadership\nDe-escalation and Miscommunication awareness – The 3-EI approach\nImproving Employee Wellness – Keys to Resiliency\nUncover Implicit bias\, PTSD\, and Stress-related issues\nBuilding Community Inclusion and Trust – Working with community leaders\nFull-day class filled with insightful\, engaging lessons\, videos\, laughter and learning!\n\n  \nRITE in the Media: LINK to more\nTEDx on RITE – Use of Voice not Force by Sgt Jones\nCBS 8 Selma\, Alabama DOC – the missing link to officer training\nFox 19 News – Middletown officers train in Racial Intelligence\nPolice Departments get Positive Press Coverage www.goo.gl/UeMaHx – (TV Interview) \n  \nRITE Articles: LINK to more\nOfficers Police themselves back up LADDER https://goo.gl/VBRdjm\nRacial Intelligence Training at Notre Dame College www.goo.gl/bGOKJX\nCommunity Policing is climbing above the burden of Hate www.goo.gl/DG6sSI – \n  \n  \nTraining Site:\nOPOTA Main Campus\n1650 State Route 56 SW\nLondon\, Ohio 43140\n740-845-2700 \n  \n  \nAgenda TBD \nDay 1 \nDay 2 \n\n\n  \n    \n\n\n\n  \n  \n\n  \n

SUMMARY:RITE Training for NFL Players & Coalition: JAN 26\, 2018 (Orlando\, FL)
DESCRIPTION:RITE Academy Training for various NFL Pro Bowl players and members of the Players Coalition will be conducted the Friday before the Pro Bowl in Orlando. This private training is by invitation only\, to members of the Players Coalition\, NFL Players\, NFL Legends\, and NFL staff\, with a maximum class size of 100. Originally designed for police and corrections departments\, RITE Academy has delivered training to multiple government agencies and universities. \nNFL Players Coalition have taken proactive measures to improve policing and the communities they serve. RITE Academy teaches with tools that help improve communication and reduce bias-based tension in policing communities. Teaching critical components of both Emotional Intelligence (EI) and Social Intelligence (SI)\, improves resiliency awareness\, as well as personal and professional relationships. \n  \nWhat is the Players Coalition and How did it form?\nMalcolm JENKINS: “We started a Players Coalition\, and those conversations are happening from player to player\, in group settings\, conference calls\, email blasts\, and we are targeting specific areas\, too. \nWe would rather not be demonstrating or protesting. The only reason that we feel it necessary is that guys have been doing work on their own in these areas\, whether it be racial justice\, social justice\, criminal justice reform or civil rights. Athletes have been doing this work for a long time. We just don’t hear about it\, and it doesn’t get the same kind of hype. That’s where these demonstrations are useful\, because regardless of how you feel about them\, they keep that conversation going. \nGuys have gone back and forth as to if it is effective or not\, or if it’s a distraction\, but there is the awful truth that if we just go and do the work silently\, it doesn’t get the attention that it needs. So whether you think it is a protest or a demonstration\, really\, it doesn’t matter. As long as we are keeping these conversations going long enough to redirect some of that attention to the work\, to the actual call to action\, it’s worth it.” \n  \nAnquan BOLDIN: “My cousin’s death was\, for me\, pretty much a call to action. Seeing what my family was going through\, what we are still currently going through at this point. \nTrying to get justice in a situation where we felt we had been dealt a raw deal\, and not wanting to see anybody else go through that. I saw a lot of other guys in the NFL asking questions: How do I get involved? Where do I start?  \nThe connection between us has been that we are fighting for the same thing. I saw the demonstrations he had been involved in during the games. I was trying to get guys together who were like-minded. I put out a couple calls to different guys around the league who I knew held this issue near and dear\, and then we got together and organized the trip to D.C. to go learn more about the issues that we were facing. We talked to senators and congressmen on both sides of the aisle. We tried to see how we could help. We have been given a platform\, and we want to use that platform.” \n  \nLeaders talk “What makes RITE Training a great fit for them”\n\nEmotional Intelligence is being aware of our emotions\, and to acknowledge that emotions can drive behavior that impacts others (positively and negatively). Social Intelligence is how we effectively navigate and negotiate all social relationships and situations. \nRITE Tools\, like the Emotional Energy Ladder (in this photo)\, makes us aware of our emotions\, how we affect others\, and that only we have the power to make those changes. Racism lives at the bottom of the Ladder with Hate. Bias-free lives at the top of the Ladder with Love\, Gratitude and Joy. \nGreat leadership starts with doing the RITE thing\, in order to help others do the same. \n\n\n\nRacial Intelligence is: “The practice of using Emotional Intelligence (EI)\, Social Intelligence (SI) and the RITE Tools to treat ourselves and others fairly.” \n\n\nGoals and Objectives:\n\nLearning how to use EI and SI tools that go beyond DIVERSITY and Inclusion\nEmotional Intelligence and Mindfulness – Making the connection\nDe-escalation communication awareness – The 3-EI approach\nImproving Employee Wellness – Communication Keys to Resiliency\nWorking with Implicit bias\, PTSD\, and Stress-related issues\nBuilding Community Inclusion and Trust – Working with community leaders using RITE Training\n\n  \nRITE in the Media:\nMiddletown officers train in Racial Intelligence – Fox 19 News\nRacial Intelligence Training For Local Police – WVXU Radio Interview\nPolice officers learning how to deal with their own emotions – NBC 5\nPolice Departments can get Positive Press Coverage www.goo.gl/UeMaHx – (TV Interview) \n  \nRITE Articles:\nOfficers Police themselves back up LADDER https://goo.gl/VBRdjm\nRacial Intelligence Training at Notre Dame College www.goo.gl/bGOKJX\nCommunity Policing is climbing above the burden of Hate www.goo.gl/DG6sSI – \n  \nDaily Agenda\n2:30                       Meet and Greet\n2:45 – 4:15 pm     RITE session\n4:15 – end             Questions session \n  \nTraining Location\nWalt Disney World \nESPN Wide World of Sports \n  \nGet Info\n\n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:Racial Intelligence 2-Day TRAINER Class for ADOC: Jan 24-25\, 2018 (Selma\, AL)
DESCRIPTION:RITE Train-the-Trainer for Corrections\n\n\n\n\nDescription: \nThis is a private 2-day train-the-trainer RITE is conducting for Alabama Department of Corrections 40 staff trainers. ADOC has taken proactive measures to train their officers with better tools to improve communication\, on the job and off. \nTeaching critical components of both Emotional Intelligence (EI) and Social Intelligence (SI)\, improves resiliency awareness\, as well as personal and professional relationships\, inside and outside department walls. Mindfulness training starts with Emotional Intelligence. Understanding others comes from understanding one’s self. \nEmotional Intelligence is being aware of our emotions\, and to acknowledge that emotions can drive behavior that impacts others (positively and negatively). Social Intelligence is how we effectively navigate and negotiate all social relationships and situations. \n  \nThe Train-the-Trainer Racial Intelligence Course is the most progressive cultural diversity training on the market today\, because it helps the officer understand their EI and SI for improved communication.
