These classes help to improve resiliency awareness\, as well as personal and professional relationships. \n  \n\nEmotional Intelligence is being aware of our emotions\, and to acknowledge that emotions can drive behavior that impacts others (positively and negatively). Social Intelligence is how we effectively navigate and negotiate all social relationships and situations. \n  \nRITE Tools\, like the Emotional Energy Ladder (in this photo)\, makes us aware of our emotions\, how we affect others\, and that only we have the power to make those changes. \n  \nAnger\, Hate\, and Blame\, all live at the bottom of the RITE Ladder. Although we all can feel those emotions during our day\, learning how to control them\, is key to great leadership. Bias-free engagement\, lives at the top of the Ladder with Love\, Gratitude\, Joy\, and Confidence. \n  \nCONTACT US\n  \nBOOK your ‘Private Agency’ Today!\n\n  \nA safe workplace\, free of all types of harassment starts with doing the RITE thing\, and helping others do the same. SUMMARY:RITE Professional Workplace and Emotional Response @Sarah Lawrence College
DESCRIPTION:This private RITE training is for Sarah Lawrence College Campus Officers and those with special invites by the Director of Campus Safety. \n  \n\nHow we react to a volatile situation is key. This training dramatically improves our Emotional Response when engaging with others\, especially in pressure situations. \n\n  \nWe make 35\,000 decisions each day! \nDeciding what we eat\, what we wear\, what we say\, and how we’ll say it\, our brains are on the go from the moment we wake up. The fact is\, about 90% of the decisions Officer’s make\, are based on emotions. \n  \nOfficers and Emotional Intelligence\nThe benefit of emotional intelligence training\, is in learning how officers can utilize it in the community. When using tactics of influence\, emotional intelligence provides a groundwork for successful engagement. Emotional Intelligence is the foundation of RITE’s Emotional Response Training (ERT). \n  \nMany times coworkers and zone partners escalate situations because they themselves are in a negative space. Having emotional self-control means you value yourself\, and are willing to work on yourself. But not all officers know how to ASK for help. \n  \n \nEmotional Response Training (ERT) helps us recognize signs and symptoms of stress\, PTSD\, and suicidal thoughts. ERT offers ways and means to build up positive mental health for every officer\, and a way to work on themselves in their own space and time. \n  \n\nCourse Summary\nDecisions we make come from either our logical or emotional mind. Emotional intelligence (EI) is knowing how our emotional mind works\, and learning to control our emotions\, especially in pressure situations. \n  \nThis course is necessary for anyone in public service\, as it goes beyond work-life\, and benefits home-life as well. Maintaining control over our emotions\, especially in today’s policing\, is critical. This course has been taught since 2015\, and has helped many. Link to photos and surveys. \n  \nOfficers with high Emotional Intelligence: \n\nManage emotional responses (ERT)\nRecognize their emotions and why\nConnect the link between emotions and behaviors\n\n  \nThis training focuses on how to use better Emotional Responses to successfully manage the behavior of others. Law enforcement officers often encounter volatile situations\, and their response can either help a situation or escalate it. \n  \nRITE has simplified the (6) modules taught in this class\, to utilize the information immediately. Students learn practical skills using unique Tools for managing emotional responses\, and ways to harness the power of the emotional part of the brain. Having a high EI is critical to working with in public service. \n  \nEmotional health issues are a known risk to an officer’s health and well-being. This training is a MUST for every first responder.\n  \n(4) Issues of Poor Mental Health\n\nDepression\, anxiety\, and PTSD\nLack of Productivity\nEven when available\, most won’t seek help\nOfficer suicide\n\nOfficers have higher rates of depression\, burnout\, PTSD\, and anxiety than the general population. Coworkers and zone partners often escalate situations because they themselves are in a negative space. SUMMARY:Professional Workplace Emotional Response for Police\, Fire\, 911 LEADERS (Texas)
DESCRIPTION:Agency Equity Expands Fairness and Justice to All \n\nRITE classes are nationally recognized in encouraging a bias-free workplace\, that includes racial equity inside and outside the agency. Our classes include a combination of emotional and social intelligence skill-building\, ERT (Emotional Response Training) and unique accountability Tools. Years of research along with hands-on training\, give your employees a sole-source experience that is unmatched. \n \n  \n  \n“Training cannot be done the same way we did in the 1980’s. In order to build racial equity that includes fairness and justice\, we need to change how we do things\, from leadership on down.” ~ Linda Webb \nRead the article on Racial Equity HERE \n  \n\n “RITE Training benefits ALL (Fire\, Police\, Corrections) in Public Service”\n \nWhy RITE Training works for ALL in Public Service\nRITE’s critical components of both Emotional Intelligence (EI) and Social Intelligence (SI)\, helps all in public service\, improve communication on many levels. These classes help to improve resiliency awareness\, as well as personal and professional relationships. \n\nEmotional Intelligence is being aware of our emotions\, and to acknowledge that emotions can drive behavior that impacts others (positively and negatively). \n  \nA safe workplace\, free of all types of harassment starts with doing the RITE thing\, and helping others do the same. Improved communication starts here. \n\n\n\nRITE is: “The practice of using Emotional Intelligence (EI)\, Social Intelligence (SI) and the RITE Tools (RI)\, to treat ourselves and others fairly.” \n\n\n  \nRITE Professional Workplace Training\nTeaching components that reinforce your company’s values of having a professional bias-free workplace culture for all employees is our goal. Each class includes Emotional Intelligence Tools your employees learn from and use in class with each other\, and well after we are gone. \n  \nWorkplace Culture Breakdowns include:\n\nUnprofessional Behavior\nElements of Entitlement\nMental Looping and Negative Banter\nImplicit Bias and Hot Buttons\nRumors and Gossip\nUnprofessional Social Media Posting\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n\nRITE helps reinforce the company culture of treating everyone fairly\, in a professional manner. Learning to Value others\, is key to building a professional workplace\, that will be passed on for years to come. \n\n  \n  \nRITE in the Media: \n\nRITE Articles to Learn from and Share: \nDuty to Intervene during Block-out – Article Link\n6 Signs a Bully is causing your Workplace Harassment Issues Article Link\nProfessional Workplace Culture is Reducing Officer Misconduct – Article Link \n \n  \n\nDaily Agenda:\n8:00 – 11:50 am     Morning session\n12:00 – 1:00 pm     Lunch Break\n1:00 – 4:00 pm      Afternoon session \n  \n\nTraining Location\n\n\nTexas Police Headquarters\n\n\n  \nContact and Registration\n\nContact here\n\n\n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:RITE Professional Workplace and Emotional Response @Gaston Co. Sheriff's Off.
DESCRIPTION:This private RITE training is for Detention Officers of Gaston County Sheriff’s Office. \n  \nOfficers and Emotional Intelligence\nThe benefit of emotional intelligence training\, is in learning how officers can utilize it inside the agency as well as the community for which they serve. SUMMARY:RITE TRAINERS Class @Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office (Florida)
DESCRIPTION:Train-the-Trainer Class location: Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office (City of Destin\, Florida)\nRegistration is OPEN for all LAW Enforcement\, Fire\, EMS\, 911\, Corrections\, and City Employees. Details\, Flier and Contact info below. Space is limited to the first 35 that register. \n  \n  \nRITE’s Emotional Response Training (ERT) helps us recognize signs and symptoms of stress\, PTSD\, and suicidal thoughts. ERT offers ways and means to build up positive mental health for every officer\, and a way to work on themselves in their own space and time. \n  \nCourse Summary\nDecisions we make come from either our logical or emotional mind. \n  \n\n \n \n \n \n\n  \nRITE has simplified the (6) modules taught in this class\, to utilize the information immediately. Since not all officers know how to ASK for help\, this training is critical. \n  \n\n \n \n\n  \nTrainers Learn to Teach:\n\nOfficer Communication Skills: Emotional Response Tools to improve Officer Wellness\, Resiliency\, and verbal De-escalation; to use personally and professionally\nImproved Department: Social Intelligence helps with Bias-free policing\, Recruiting\, Improved morale\, and Accountability\nBuild Community Relations: Building Empathy Communication improves Bias-free policing and Enhanced public trust\n\n  \n2-Day Training Overview:\n\nEmotional Response Training (ERT) in pressure situations\nImplicit and Explicit Bias\, Hot-Buttons\, and PTS-D\n(6) modules of Emotional and Social Intelligence\nAdding to Racial Equity throughout the department\nProfessional workplace practices\nRITE model in police academy and recruit training\nLearn to avoid ‘Block-Out Syndrome’ on 95% of calls\nEmergency Response (Step In\, Tap Out\, Take Over)\nBehavioral Self Control to De-escalation Communication\nERT Tools for mental health advocates\, CIT\, etc.\nAccredited by IADLEST\, highest standard of LE training\nRITE Certificate to teach surrounding agencies\n*Use of RITE Tools for officer wellness and emotional accountability\n\n*RITE Tools are needed in teaching RITE to your agency as a Certified Trainer \n*Register at least (2) trainers for this class; two are more effective in teaching\, and allows for a back-up trainer. \n  \nCancellation Policy If you are unable to attend your scheduled class\, please email us who your replacement is. \n\n  \nRITE in the Media: \n  \n  \nRITE Articles \n\nEmotional Response Training Officer Wellness – Link\nEmotional Control Leads to Better Outcomes – Link\nDuty to Intervene during Block-out – Link\nProfessional Workplace on Police Misconduct – Link\n\n  \nWho can attend?\n\nLaw Enforcement Trainers\nFire Department Trainers\nCorrections Trainers\n911 Dispatch Trainers\n\n  \n\nTraining Location\n\nOkaloosa County Sheriff’s Office\n50 2nd Street\nShalimar\, Florida  32579\n\n\n  \n\n\n  \nContact info\nBill Jerard\nProfessional Development and Training<\nOffice of Professional Standards\nbjerard@sheriff-okaloosa.org\nOffice: 850-609-4947 \n\n  \nFor FLORIDA Agencies:\nRITE covers the training needed for guardians. \nRE: Florida Bill CS/SB 7026 — “Marjory Stoneman Douglas HS PS Act” \n\nGuardian Act 2018 Bill Summaries – LINK\nThe Florida Senate Guardian Legislature – LINK\nLINK to Coach Aaron Feis Guardian Program REQUIREMENTS\n\n

SUMMARY:RITE TRAINERS Class @Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office (Florida)
DESCRIPTION:Train-the-Trainer Class location: Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office (City of Destin\, Florida)\nRegistration is OPEN for all LAW Enforcement\, Fire\, EMS\, 911\, Corrections\, and City Employees. Details\, Flier and Contact info below. Space is limited \n  \n\nHow we react to a volatile situation is key. This training dramatically improves our Emotional Response when engaging with others of all ages\, especially when under pressure. \n  \nOfficers with high Emotional Intelligence: \n\nManage emotional responses\nRecognize heightened emotions in others\nConnect the link between emotions and behaviors\n\n  \nThis training focuses on how to use better Emotional Responses to successfully manage the behavior of others. Law enforcement officers often encounter volatile situations\, and their response can either help a situation or escalate it. \n  \n\n \n \n \n \n\n  \nRITE has simplified the (6) modules taught in this class\, to utilize the information immediately. Since not all officers know how to ASK for help\, this training is critical. \n  \n\n \n \n\n  \nTrainers Learn to Teach:\n\nOfficer Communication Skills: Emotional Response Tools to improve Officer Wellness\, Resiliency\, and verbal De-escalation; to use personally and professionally\nImproved Department: Social Intelligence helps with Bias-free policing\, Recruiting\, Improved morale\, and Accountability\nBuild Community Relations: Building Empathy Communication improves Bias-free policing and Enhanced public trust\n\n  \n2-Day Training Overview:\n\nEmotional Response Training (ERT) in pressure situations\nUnderstanding Hot-Buttons\, and PTS-D\n(6) modules of Emotional and Social Intelligence\nProfessional workplace practices\n(12) hours needed to teach your Guardians in Schools\nRITE model in police academy and recruit training\nLearn to avoid ‘Block-Out Syndrome’ on 95% of calls\nEmergency Response (Step In\, Tap Out\, Take Over)\nBehavioral Self Control to De-escalation Communication\nERT Tools for mental health advocates\, CIT\, etc.\nAccredited by IADLEST\, highest standard of LE training\nRITE Certificate to teach surrounding agencies\n*Use of RITE Tools for officer wellness and emotional accountability\n\n*RITE Tools are needed in teaching RITE to your agency as a Certified Trainer \n*Register at least (2) trainers for this class; two are more effective in teaching\, and allows for a back-up trainer. \n  \n  \n\n  \nRITE in the Media: \n  \n  \nRITE Articles \n\nEmotional Response Training Officer Wellness – Link\nEmotional Control Leads to Better Outcomes – Link\nDuty to Intervene during Block-out – Link\nProfessional Workplace on Police Misconduct – Link\n\n  \nWho can attend?\n\nLaw Enforcement Trainers\nFire Department Trainers\nCorrections Trainers\n911 Dispatch Trainers\nFlorida Guardians for Schools\n\n  \n\nTraining Location\n\nOkaloosa County Sheriff’s Office\n50 2nd Street\nShalimar\, Florida  32579\n\n\n  \n\n\n  \nContact and Registration info\nBill Jerard\nProfessional Development and Training<\nOffice of Professional Standards\nbjerard@sheriff-okaloosa.org\nOffice: 850-609-4947 \n\n  \nGuardians for FLORIDA Agencies:\nRITE covers the mandatory training needed for guardians. \nRE: Florida Bill CS/SB 7026 — “Marjory Stoneman Douglas HS PS Act” \n\nGuardian Act 2018 Bill Summaries – LINK\nThe Florida Senate Guardian Legislature – LINK\nLINK to Coach Aaron Feis Guardian Program REQUIREMENTS\n\n
