With over 20 years of experience in federal contracting and procurement, Dr. Olin’s professional career started in 1995 as an aviation logistics and procurement specialist in the United States Navy. In 2008, Dr. Olin’s career led her to serving as a federal contracting officer for the Department of the Navy.
By 2013, Dr. Olin was the Chief of Contracts and Grants within the department of Defense where she was responsible for the award and administration of several multi-million dollar acquisitions while overseeing an annual spend of $300-$500 million in products and services. Dr. Olin has served as a small business advocate in addition to becoming a subject matter expert in acquisition planning, source selection, life cycle cost analysis, program management, sustainable procurement, and contract administration. She has taught procurement and contracting at several universities since 2007 and currently serves as an adjunct professor at the George H. Walker School of Business at Webster University.
During her tenure with the federal government, Dr. Olin developed a passion for working with and promoting small businesses. By 2014, Dr. Olin felt a strong desire to start Crawford Olin, LLC; and together with her partner, founded a management consultant company that has helped small businesses and start-ups grow through government contracts, federal grants, organizational process improvement, and professional development training. As the head of Crawford Olin’s Growth Solutions Department, Dr. Olin is responsible for all Capture Planning, Proposal Support, Program Management, Federal Grants Management, and SBIR/STTR Support services. Additionally, Dr. Olin has taught procurement and contracting at several universities since 2007 and currently serves as an adjunct professor at the George H. Walker School of Business at Webster University.
Dr. Olin earned her Doctor of Business Administration degree (DBA) in Global Business Sustainability and Management from Argosy University; her Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in Business Management and Leadership from American InterContinental University; and her Bachelor of Arts (Pre-Law) in Political Science and Criminal Justice from Old Dominion University. She is also a Fellow in the General Services Administration’s (GSA) Sustainability in Procurement Fellowship Program.
Lastly, Dr. Olin has a keen passion for service and gives back to her community by being involved with several mentoring programs for young girls and at-risk youth in impoverished areas. She is a proud member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated and serves as a mentor for Project S.T.R.O.N.G.
